บริษัท สตาร์ ปิโตรเลียม รีไฟน์นิ่ง จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ SPRC จัดกิจกรรม “วันอนุรักษ์ชายฝั่งสากล จังหวัดระยอง ประจำปี 2564″ ร่วมกับกรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง (ทช.) การนิคมอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (กนอ.) และผู้ประกอบการภาคอุตสาหกรรมในจังหวัดระยอง ภายใต้เคมเปญ “#PullingOurWeight เก็บ เซฟ โลก” ซึ่งเป็นการส่งเสริมการเก็บขยะที่ปนเปื้อนอยู่ในแหล่งน้ำธรรมชาติ พร้อมกับสนับสนุนการคัดแยกขยะในครัวเรือนตามประเภทตั้งแต่ต้นทาง เพื่อให้สามารถนำมาใช้ประโยชน์ใหม่หรือกลับสู่กระบวนการรีไซเคิลตามหลักเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน ป้องกันปริมาณขยะที่จะหลุดรอดสู่สิ่งแวดล้อม
ด้วยภายใต้สถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (COVID-19) SPRC ได้คำนึงถึงความปลอดภัยเป็นสำคัญ จึงได้จัดกิจกรรมในรูปแบบการเชิญชวนครอบครัวพนักงานร่วมกันคัดแยกขยะ โดยแบ่งเป็น พลาสติก, แก้ว, กระดาษ, เหล็ก/อะลูมิเนียม และขยะทั่วไปประเภทอื่นๆ จากบ้าน ชุมชน ทะเล แม่น้ำ หรือลำคลองใกล้บ้าน ช่วงวันที่ 8-18 กันยายน 2564 ซึ่งพลังของครอบครัว SPRC ในครั้งนี้ สามารถรวบรวมขยะได้จำนวนทั้งสิ้นกว่า 8,700 ชิ้น
การจัดกิจกรรมครั้งนี้ ถือเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการสร้างจิตสำนึกในการคัดแยกขยะและความตระหนักถึงผลกระทบของปริมาณขยะที่อาจส่งผลกระทบต่อคนในชุมชนได้ รวมถึงปลูกฝังการแสดงความรับผิดชอบต่อสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อม ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนอีกด้วย

Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited (SPRC) held the activity of “2021 Rayong International Coastal Conservation (ICC) Day” jointly with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR), Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), and the Rayong industrial entrepreneurs, under a campaign “#PullingOurWeight saves the world”. This campaign promoted the collection of waste contaminated in natural water resources along with supporting the sorting of household waste so that they can be reused or returned to the recycled process according to the circular economy principle to prevent the amount of waste out into the environment.
Due to the situation of COVID-19 outbreak, SPRC takes safety as a priority. Therefore, the activity was held in the form of inviting SPRC family members to separating wastes by categorizing into plastic, glass, paper, steel/aluminum, and other general waste, from houses, community area, beach, along river/canals near home during 8-18 September 2021. SPRC family members engaged was able to collect more than 8,700 pieces of trash.
This event is a part of creating awareness of waste separation and realizing the impact of amount of waste that may affect people in the community as well as cultivating social and environmental responsibility which is also a part of the sustainable development.
